Camden… Well what can I say, it is an amazing place to visit.
So much to do and see. The food and craft markets are impressive.. mainly as I love food! So many different and unique characters. One of the best experiences was entering into the Cyberdog shop. It’s mental in there, ear drum bursting techno music and strobe lighting. Selling the most unique outfits and neon coloured accessories. Definitely worth going in for a quick visit!
There is so much street food about, whether you like Asian cuisine or good old English burgers you will find it here. One of my favourite places is the doughnut stall, these are beats. One doughnut will definitely sort you out. My favourite is the chocolate covered caramel doughnut. Extremely satisfying.. even if I did force it down my throat as I ate too much chicken before hand. You can check the pictures out on instagram: jabilondon.
If you fancy fancy being spontaneous and decide to go clubbing at 1pm; there are places to cater for it!
Overall it is a unique experience but well worth the visit!
Went for a long evening walk last night, which ended in eating Indonesian food. Really enjoyable actually, a great unplanned evening. I decided to sack off the running as left my kit at home. So tonight what would have been rest day is now running day!
The Indonesian was a very unique place, really enjoyed it. The food was fantastic the setting a little unusual but it had character. We sat on comfortable Mahogany benches that were a couple of meter’s wide so it could fit 6-8 people on. It had a lot of originality to the vicinity and the staff were warm, welcoming and gracious.
After this I headed back to Katie’s and cheered on Chelsea to another miraculous comeback…. Sadly I support Arsenal but want an English team to win the champions league.
Nostalgia set in to all footballing fans when the “famous” Mourinho touchline sprint occurred after Ba’s fortunate goal. Brilliant to watch. I am hoping Wenger’s taking a few notes!
Health/Fitness update: Well I decided to start the fitness/healthy eating 28 day challenge due to pre-booked events this week and my love for pizza this weekend. However I managed 3x 7.5k runs thur/fri/sat + Gym session.
Will be doing two 10k’s today and tomorrow too.
Also Katie and I have decided to walk in the morning. Nearly 5 miles of walking each day can’t be too bad! Just need to keep the healthy eating at a strict level from 14th April… Will be difficult but beneficial to my run.
Any ideas on gym workouts to help with running and strength?
Basically the other week Katie and I decided to go for a long walk from Clapham somewhere… We usually end up going to Waterloo, so we decided to head towards Sloane Square for a change.
Once we hit Sloane square we decided we wanted to walk further and ended up at Hyde park. We bought some monkey nuts on the way to feed the squirrels and some bread for the ducks. The squirrels are ever so friendly. You would normally imagine them to stay clear or a group of people but they were ever so confident.
The above picture of the Serpentine lake. Such a beautiful place with lots to see. We continued over the bridge and went to the Princess Diana memorial. It was such a lovely day out with plenty of food/coffee breaks. So many places to eat in and so much to see.
The annual Oxford vs Cambridge boat race is on today. Only a couple of minutes from my flat. It looks like around 200-250 thousand people gathering in Putney to get a great view. I am also paying a visit to Kingston today with Katie which should be good. Such a nice borough of London. Plenty of places to see and the river walk is beautiful.
I will also upload my events/photos/experience of Camden shortly.
I have decided to become a user on instagram. I felt that it would be a great place to share my memories and adventures that I have had in London for all to see. Check out @jabilondon on instagram and also my twitter @justaboyinlon.
Enjoy your day!
so today I decided I am going to blog for 28 days regarding fitness and diet.
I have a 10k race in early May so thought it would be great preparation for the race and also inspire others. I am going to start documenting from Monday 14th April to Monday 12th May. I will document on my meals and the distance of my runs and any gym sessions.I also need to challenge myself in other aspects in life. However I am not to sure whether to post body transformation shots?
Any ideas or suggestions?
